Quiet power in a noisy world

The reasons behind the small things we do.

The kind of questions we ask

Small moments. Quiet reasons.

01Why do we sit in the car after we’ve already arrived?
02Why do we hold back an idea, then hear someone else say it?
03Why can a full room feel lonelier than an empty one?
Where quiet power shows up

At home, at work, and in your own head.

01

At home

The pause in the driveway, the seat you always choose, the relief when the house goes still. Small habits that say a lot about what you need.

02

At work

Why being “on” all day wears you out, why the quiet person in the meeting often sees the most, and how to lead without being the loudest voice.

03

With the people you love

Partners, friends, family, and the people you’ve lost touch with. The small moments that bring us closer, or quietly pull us apart.

Meet your host

Hi, I’m Lorraine.

I’m an HR leader, an author, and an introvert who has learned that the quiet people in the room often notice the most. I started The Quiet Why because everyday moments are often the most revealing, and most of them never get talked about.

My husband, Corey, joins me on some episodes. He’s my riding partner and a good second voice when a question needs another point of view.

I bring curiosity, not judgment. Most of the time, nothing is wrong with you. There’s just a reason worth understanding.
