Discover practical, affordable ways to reconnect with yourself—even on a tight schedule and tighter budget.
Alright, let’s cut to the chase. You’re ready for a change. Your life isn’t what you want it to be. But how do you even begin to find “spirituality” on a paycheck-to-paycheck basis—without cashing out your savings and flying to Bali for a retreat?
The answer: LEARNING AND INFORMATION. It’s virtually free if you can carve out just a little time each day. This is going to be short and sweet…
Make Time for Growth in Your Everyday Life
Even in the busiest of lives, we can find a little time in our day to learn and grow. How?
Ya girl here is alllll about listening to podcasts! Most of us drive or take public transportation to get from one place to another, and that’s the PERFECT time to start rediscovering yourself.
Swap the radio for a podcast during your commute. Pop one on at the gym. Listen while folding laundry or taking a walk. Just start. Podcast hop until you find what resonates with you.

Let Audiobooks Be Your Soul Food
Along the same lines as podcasts are audiobooks. You can listen anywhere, anytime—which is why I love them.
A one-credit subscription to Audible is $15/month. I’ve spent more than that at the gas station or on a random coffee run. Investing in your inner peace and growth? Priceless.

Meditation for the Squirrel-Brained
Meditation. If that’s for you.
I’m TRYING to meditate a few times a week, and as someone with a racing mind that never shuts up and—SQUIRREL!—you get it.
But here’s the deal: there’s real, proven power in meditation. And like any muscle or skill, it takes time and practice. No magic switch, just consistency.
I usually do it on my lunch break or after work (because ya girl is not a morning person).
🧘♀️ Meditations I’m Using Right Now
Molly’s Mornings is a free meditation podcast. Click the pic and it will take you there! The image below is the app “wild minds” by Molly, and it’s filled with so many tools from meditation, to journal prompts. I really like it! You can find it in the App Store or on google play.
The other two from Dr. Joe Dispensa I bought on audible.

Journaling, Bitches! (Yes, It’s That Good)
This is something I’ve really clung to. If you’re like me, you forget something someone said (or you just heard on a podcast) pretty much immediately.
So now, I jot things down in my phone when they hit me. Then I journal at night about how I’m feeling, what I learned, or what changed during the day.
Just 5–10 minutes a night, right before my shower. And the coolest part? Looking back and seeing how far you’ve come.
✍️ Pro Tip:
Journaling is FREEEEE. No excuse. If you don’t know where to start, check out the Wild Minds app, as mentioned above. It provides daily journal prompts.
You Do Have Time to Do the Work
I used to think I didn’t have time for this self-development crap. Too busy taking care of everyone else. And honestly? I thought a lot of this—like journaling and meditation—was bullshit.
But here’s the truth: I was just craving instant gratification.
Doing a little bit each day—just something—has shifted my energy in a way that’s hard to describe. I’m starting to feel peace. Motivation. Purpose.
And on a teacher’s salary? That’s pretty damn amazing.
TL;DR – Your Path to Spirituality Starts with Small Steps
- Swap radio for podcasts
- Try an audiobook instead of doom-scrolling
- Meditate when you can (even if it’s not “ideal”)
- Journal like your peace depends on it—because maybe it does
- Keep showing up for you
